Message OK so my '90 Z failed emissions at idle when I bought it. I ended up getting a sticker the hard way ($). I dont want to do that again and also I wanted to figure out the problem. Well I was on Robo's Z32 page (freakin' great!) and I learned that the AIV may be my problem because my Z does have aftermarket exhaust on it that I did not install. Well I got under it last night and sure enough the midpipes do not have anything connected and I actually had noticed that tube emerging from the passenger fender well before but didnt think much of it. Well I read a Jim Wolf post on here where he said that the ECU dumps 7% more fuel out the injectors at idle when the AIV is functioning. I read on Robo's page that the ECU tune will eliminate the AIV function. SO... will an ECU tune eliminate that 7% increase in fuel and make my car pass at idle? The car does have cats installed so Im thinking it should. If anyone has an opinion please let me know.

Thanks

Orion
